LAKE OF FIRE 2011
DEN FRIE CCA, COPENHAGEN, DENMARK

The Lake of Fire exhibition examines the art-historical concepts "readymade" and "appropriation" in a contemporary perspective. According to Mikkel Carl (artist and curator of the exhibition) there is a current, widespread and highly productive tendency to use a particular part of our inheritance from the avant-garde: the ability to select and combine with precision, always essential to collage, ready-made, assemblage and appropriation.

The installation view is from the exhibition featuring Jytte Høy’s contribution Text and Feeling, 2011. Wall: works from the series Words Found More Added, 2011. Floor, right: Early Morning Late Night, 2011; left: I am the Moon; 2011; behind: At the Edge, 2011 and I can’t get out, 2011.
