GRINDSTED STENBÆR
AN OUT-DOOR SCULPTURE FOR THE GARDEN AT SYDVESTJYSK
HOSPITAL, GRINDSTED, DENMARK, 2015

Grindsted Stenbær (Grindsted Stone-berry) is a sculpture made especially for the hospital garden at Sydvestjysk Hospital, Grindsted. The materials are steel and stone. The steel forms a structure reminiscent of a bush or tree. The branches reaches out, and on their outmost points, stones are lifted forward; Stone-berries.

A stone-berry is a stone found along the coast of Denmark. It is chosen for the sculpture because it contains special qualities. It could be its crystalline structure, its colour or its shape. Under different circumstances the stones would carry names like granite, porphyry, amphibolite or sandstone. There are 56 stones on Grindsted Stenbær.

Commissioned by Sydvestjysk Hospital, Grindsted
